Spring Bear season's almost over and with just a few weeks left, Stuck N The Rut member Tom Schneider tells us about his hunt.

Tom "So I ended up last guy with a tag in my pocket, didn't have anyone else to film but my dad that day. So we worked our way down this hill and got into this grassy opening, trying to be a stealthy hunter. As we got out into the opening, I was looking really slow and picking apart the timber with my binos and basically walked past him. He was just in a spot I was least expecting, he was right on the timber line that I came out. He just had that light brown, and usually you are looking for that black and he was standing right there and I could clearly tell he was about to take off running. As I pulled up the gun I told my dad to get the video camera on him. As he said he was on him I pulled up the gun the bear started to run, and it got to a point where it was now or never. So shot him right behind the shoulder, and as soon as I shot he did a summer sault and then he ran down the hill. We were all excited, knew I got a good hit, walked down to the edge of the hill and as we were going my dad said "Tom I don't know what to tell you, but I forgot to push the record button." Well, let's see if we got a bear still. Believe it or not he was about 200 yards later, he was lying in a creek bed. You know it's really good to get out with dad anyways, and for him to be there that made it all worth it."

It's hard to beat a good hunt with family, even when the equipment malfunctions.
