Farm and Ranch September 21, 2009 The Risk Management Agency has announced 2010 Wheat Multi-Peril Crop Insurance prices.

For Washington, Oregon and Idaho the projected 2010 Crop Revenue Coverage Base Price is $5.55 for all wheat; Income Protection Projected Price is $5.55 for all wheat and Revenue Assurance, available in Idaho only, has a Projected Price of $5.42 for winter wheat.

RMA also announced an additional price election for 2010 Malting Barley, winter seeded, under Option A at $1.40 a bushel in the Idaho Counties of Cassia, Nez Perce and Payette.

The sales closing date for fall planted barley with winter coverage and wheat in Idaho, Oregon and Washington is Wednesday, September 30th. Jo Lynn Seufer with RMA’s regional office says that September 30th date also applies to some other crops.

Seufer: “For our mint with winter coverage, our forage production, our forage alfalfa seed pilot and the fall planted dry peas with winter coverage. That is new.”

Seufer explains where that new Dry Pea with winter coverage is available.

Seufer: “Is now available in Idaho counties of Clearwater, Idaho County, Latah, Lewis and Nez Perce and in Washington we have Asotin, Douglas, Lincoln and Whitman counties.”

Producers should contact their local crop insurance agent for complete crop insurance details.
