**A Washington state appeals court overturned a $185 million verdict against Bayer's Monsanto unit over chemical contamination at a Seattle-area school.

www.reuters.com reports Monsanto spinoff Pharmacia, which sold now-banned chemicals called PCBs was found liable in 2021 after three teachers claimed they suffered brain damage from PCBs leaked from light fixtures at the Sky Valley Education Center in Monroe, Washington.

The Court agreed with Bayer that the lower court improperly applied the laws of Missouri, where Monsanto is based, allowing the claims to be filed decades after the company stopped producing PCBs.

The U.S. government outlawed PCBs in 1979 due to links to cancer.

**U.S. ag groups are reacting to the House and Senate Ag Chairs who released their farm bill overviews.

NCBA’s Ethan Lane says we are pleased with the Farm Bill frameworks, but especially the focus on voluntary conservation programs.

The American Farm Bureau says both proposals acknowledge farm programs require additional investment due to falling commodity prices and higher interest rates.

**Baseball and summer grilling season share a season so it’s only natural they work together.

The “Beef, It’s What’s for Dinner” brand, funded by the Beef Checkoff, is excited to announce a new partnership as a proud partner of the Little League World Series.

NCBA’s Dan Gattis says this partnership provides a unique opportunity to reach a younger audience with facts about beef and recipes they will love.
