For those of you who have wondered whatever happened to the Martin archery company there is a new beginning as told by their new president, Tracy Reiff. "Martin archery is a 60 year old company that was founded by the Martin family. Gael Martin ran the company through the years but passed away several years ago. The business faltered. There was a management team that tried to get it back going in the right direction and ran into some roadblocks. One radblock was a fire that leveled a17,000-square-foot machine shop, where Martin Archery manufactures bows. They didn't give up. I joined in March of this year. The company I work for took it over a little less than two years ago. In their heyday, Martin was one of the leading archery companies in the country and known for its traditional hand carved, recurved takedown bows that people used many years ago. The business has shifted to the compound bow business. Though the fire was extremely damaging to our business, fortunately no one was hurt. But through the efforts after the fire we have been able to focus totally on 2016. We are very excited with what we are coming out with and we're going to do something that this industry has never done. It is coming out with bows that are driven towards what the consumer wants in a bow.
