Thirty Day Protein Challenge

Thirty Day Protein Challenge

There are a myriad of 30-day challenges out there and available — some for fitness, kindness and for eating habits. Launched on April first, the beef industry now offers a 30-day Protein Challenge. National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Director of Nutrition Outreach and Registered Dietitian Shelley Johnson shares more about the power and benefits of protein in the diet.
Johnson: “Well, we’ve learned through protein research that spreading your intake of protein throughout the day, can be beneficial for health and wellness. That means preserving the muscle that you have as you get older. And also we learned that when you eat protein steadily throughout the day — which means adequate amounts at breakfast — you can stave off cravings for snacks or mindless eating later in the day.
Johnson shares more about the resources available through the 30-day Challenge.
Johnson: “beefitswhatfordinner.com/proteinchallenge is the clearing house for everything that deals with the Protein Challenge. There are some wonderful tips and suggestions for recipes. There is actually a 30-day Protein Challenge plan and anybody who would like to subscribe to the Protein Challenge can receive 30 days of tip-filled emails by subscribing.
