System Crashed at CBOT Tuesday Concludes with Open Outcry Bids

Wheat rallied back up after a morning of lower prices. From the floor of the CME Group, Greg Wagner shares more about Tuesday’s events. Wagner: “Tuesday’s trade here at the CME Group was very interesting and very positive across the board — despite the fact that Globex had a very very unusual glitch and trading was halted on Globex electronic platform but nonetheless the pit continued to trade. There is going to be some post-settlement activity as well as some of these positions can be squared up.”
Chicago May Wheat ended Monday up 4 and 3/4 cents at 6-81. May corn ended the day up 7 and 3/4 cents at 5-07.
Portland prices for soft white wheat were steady to up 4 and 3/4 cents at mostly 7-69 and 3/4. White club wheat prices were steady to up 4 and 3/4 cents at mostly 8-21 and 3/4. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices were up 2 to 7 cents at mostly 8-61 and 1/2. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were mixed down 4 cents to up a penny at mostly 8-83 and 1/4.
June live cattle were up 35 cents on Monday at 135-27 and a half. May Feeder cattle were up 2 and half cents at 178-87 and half. May class III milk was up 15 cents at 21-58.
