Wheat Markets End Mixed

I'm KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for September 2, 2013. ? Wheat futures traded both sides of the unchanged Friday despite the weaker action in the corn market. From the floor of the CME Group, Gary Kozlowski shares his observations of Friday's markets. Kozlowski: "Everybody is concerned about weather right now. Everybody is looking to see what is going to happen out here in the Mid-West and the Eastern part of the country. There has been a lot of dryness and extreme temperatures right now in Chicago we are experiencing 95 degree weather which was not anticipated. Wheat is really holding its own right now. It really hasn't had that much of a drop off. We are going to be looking for it to pretty much hang on to that range in the coming weeks." Chicago December Wheat ended Friday down a 1/4 of a cent at 6-54. December corn ended the day up 1/2 of a cent at 4-82.??Portland prices for soft white wheat were unchanged at mostly 7-33 and 1/2. White club wheat had no price comparisons at mostly 7-38 and 1/2. Hard Red Winter Wheat with 11.5 pct protein prices were up a 1/4 of cent to15 and 1/4 cents at mostly 8-17 and 1/2. DNS wheat with 14 pct protein prices were mixed down 2 and 3/4 cents to up 2 and 1/4 cents at mostly 8-49 and 1/4. ??October live cattle were down 17 and half cents Friday at 126-80. October Feeder cattle were up 95 cents at 158-95. October class III milk was up 48 cents at 18-19.
