Cash rental rates in Washington

Washington Ag Today September 15, 2011 Just how much does it cost to rent irrigated or non-irrigated cropland in Washington? That depends upon where you are of course. A new report from the Washington Field Office of the National Agricultural Statistics Service shows both Benton and Franklin counties have the highest average cash rental rate for irrigated land at $381 an acre. The top non-irrigated cash rental rate in the state is in Skagit County, $191 an acre. For just eastern Washington, Whitman County has the highest non-irrigated cash rental at $73 an acre.

Pasture cash rent in the state ranges from a high of $75 an acre in King County to a low of four dollars in southeastern Washington.

Now this from Stockland Livestock.

This is Jack McQuinness here at Stockland Livestock in Davenport. On Monday we ended up right at one-thousand head of cattle. A good run of cows and bulls. That market two to three lower. Most of the trade still in the 60-dollar money. Mid to high 60s and low 70s caught most of the cows. Bulls topped at 90.10. I call that maybe a buck or two lower. Feeder cattle fully steady on the yearlings. A little bit softer on the calves due a lack of supplies and the hot weather. All in all stronger futures. A lot of optimism in our business. We are looking for a good September, October and November as the fall run starts. Call us anytime at Stockland, 509-535-2444.

Thanks Jack.
