RMA announces small grain revenue product harvest prices

Farm and Ranch September 3, 2010 USDA’s Risk Management Agency has announced harvest prices for 2010 crop year Crop Revenue Coverage wheat and Income Protection wheat and barley for Idaho, Oregon and Washington. Also harvest prices for Revenue Assurance spring and winter wheat for Idaho and feed barley for Idaho, Oregon and Washington.

Jo Lynne Seufer with the regional RMA office has the prices.

Seufer: “The Crop Revenue Coverage came out at $6.29 for wheat. Income Protection wheat also came out at $6.29. For Income Protection barley we also announced that at $3.30 a bushel. Revenue Assurance, some producers opted to take that for the 2010 crop year on feed barley. It was announced at $3.36. Then in Idaho only we have RA for spring wheat which came out at $7.08 a bushel. The winter wheat came out at $5.16.”

Seufer says this is the last time there will be separate harvest prices.

Seufer: “Because next year we the new Common Crop Policy for the 2011 crop year and the prices will be all converted as one to be included, all the revenue and production policies into one.”

And the sales closing date for 2011 crop wheat and that new combined policy is September 30th.
