Agribusiness Update for Monday 05/25/15

This is the Agribusiness Update...I'm Greg Martin...

USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service has launched a new online system to connect exporters of U.S. food and agricultural products with potential customers around the world. The Trade Lead System gives U.S. exporters access to information about potential foreign sales opportunities. In addition, interested international buyers can use the system to search for potential suppliers of U.S. farm and food products. All potential sales leads are reviewed by FAS international offices and immediately distributed through the system to all registered users, as well as to nearly 100 U.S. agricultural trade associations and their members, individual state departments of agriculture, and the state regional trade groups that partner with USDA to promote agricultural exports.

In order to remain - or become eligible - for crop insurance premium support - producers must file a Highly Erodible Land Conservation and Wetland Conservation Certification form with their local USDA Service Center by June 1st. USDA wants to make sure those who are required to act do so by the deadline so that all eligible producers maintain their ability to protect their operations with affordable crop insurance.

That's today's Agribusiness Update from the Ag Information Network of the West.
