Spring Alaska Steelhead

Today we have Josh Mills that just got back from an amazing fly-fishing trip up in Alaska. Here is Josh to tell you more about his trip. I got the opportunity to go up to Prince Wales Island Alaska to do some spring Steelhead fishing. We went over to explorer spring Steelhead on that island and it was an adventure and nothing is for certain with steelhead so we weren't sure on our run timing, which rivers to fish, it was a lot of exploration. It was hiking through was best described as jungle. You would hook a fish and weren't quite sure if you were going to land it because it was such close proximity. You would hook a fish and they would instantly go into a root wad or a blowdown, it was like cage match fishing with 20 lbs. fish that had just came in on the morning tide or the evening tide the night before. It was an eye opening experience for a guy that spends most of his time on the big western rivers lime the Clearwater and Grand Rhonde.
