We've got spring black bear in the crosshairs today with Matt and Tom on sportsman's spotlight. Did you know black bears are 90% omnivores and 10% carnivores? If you can find the good grub you are going to find the bears. Tom, "Matt, your exactly right, spring bear hunting tactics is more of a spot and stock where your glassing the open ridgeline and opening is the trees. I've seen bears eat everything from dandelions, wild onions and grubs. Some things to bring along when your spring bear hunting is to have extremely good optics. A lot of time you will see a black stump out there possible over a 1000 yards and you pull your spotting scope on it and it could be a bear or just another stump.
