First established by Boris Peetz in 1925, the folks who work at a PEETZ Outdoors have been making high quality fishing reels, rods and tackle for generations of West Coast fishermen - from California to Alaska and everywhere in between! Art Aylesworth is the owner of Peetz Fishing Reels which is located up on Vancouver Island, British Columbia and art doesn't just talk the talk, he walks the walk. "Since I got invested in the fishing business, I have been fishing less of course, but last weekend, we have a cabin up on Vancouver Island and I went up there to go fishing and on the way I stopped to visit with a fellow who owns a local building supply and I gave him my brand-new Evolution series reel to try out and then I went fishing. I used my 1985 Peetz reel, the first one I ever owned and went out. Using one of our handmade lures, handmade stainless steal flashers in waters that are not famous for large fish I caught a 30 pounder and had a whale of a time using that old reel. I put it in the boat and now it's partly in my stomach and partly in my smoker. A 30 pound what? A 30 pound Chinook and it was a beauty. Very heavy fish to catch and it was a good one.
