I am talking with Dennis Dauble, an accomplished fisherman who is also the author of... "I've got two books out there. One of them is called 'Fishes of the Columbia Basin'. It is what I call a guide for the naturalist angler so it describes 50 or more species of fish in the Columbia Basin which includes, of course, sport fish and also gets into the history of the Columbia River and the history of fish all the way back to Native American times and Lewis and Clark. Before you go on, what is a naturalist angler? Somebody who wants to know more about the setting and environment than just how to and where to catch fish. They want to understand fish behavior, fish life history and of course all these things would allow them to probably catch more fish but they also want to know more about the setting including the history. The second book that I put out last year is called the "Barbless Hook' and this is a book not about how to or where to fish, it is about the fishing experience. The subtitle is Intersanctum Revealed and it's a series of 28 stories that talk about circumstances when you fish, for example, when somebody knocks your fish off the net, what you really think at that time."
