A chat with Rob Maxey about the 22 shortage. "Was it you that knew two people who bought some bricks of 22s and they were going to take them to Arizona to sell? I know of some people who were doing that. My brother lives in Bend and there was a gun shop that was getting ammo and they were selling an entire pallet load at a time to the highest bidder and that's all these guys were doing was lording it and doubling the price and selling it. It's tough to go out shooting when you can't find ammo. What is the basis of the shortage? I really don't know if it's just paranoia from people hoarding it or if it's really a supply and demand or what but :22 ammo has been very difficult to buy. Guys I know that she would a lot has to go to a sporting goods store at nine or 10 at night, wait for them to unpack the crate from that day's shipment just so they could be first in line. Wouldn't you think that the manufacturers would step up and start making more? You would think so but I really don't know what the deal is. There was a huge ammo scare for her five years ago when Obama was first elected and everybody thought he was going to take guns away. I know that was all hoarding. Politics and common sense don't necessarily go together. No they are mutually exclusive. (Laughter)
