Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Day. I'm Greg Martin with today's Northwest Report.

It's traditional on this day to think about all the things that we are thankful for. Sometimes that's easy and sometimes it can be very hard. Life can have its way. But let's be positive. One of the big things I'm thanks for that's just happened in the last few days has been a bit of moisture here in the northwest and while it's not enough to fix our problems, it has sure been nice to see. I hope the weatherman is very wrong about this year and that Mother Nature has a big surprise in store for us.

Most of the Martin family is either long gone or lives very far away so the Thanksgiving we celebrate today will be just our immediate family, wife, son and two grandkids but it always seems to feel like a house full. There will be plenty of food for everyone and no one is going to worry about whether or not the kids are being picky...or whether dad decides to fall asleep in his chair after the meal.

One thing I do miss though is William Conrad hosting the Thanksgiving Day Parade with all those wonderful balloons and the celebrity guest stars reading those corny scripts. I know they still do a parade but it's just not the same. So off with the TV and perhaps a good old movie.

Whatever you decide to do this year, however you celebrate the holiday, everyone here at the Ag Information Network of the West hopes it's filled with wonderful things and best of all...a smile. Happy Thanksgiving.

That's today's Northwest Report. I'm Greg Martin on the Ag Information Network of the West.
