This is Matt Rice with the Market Line Report for, Aug 22nd. In feeders and live cattle across the region demand was moderate with light demand. Here's Niki Davila to share more from with the USDA weekly livestock update.

Davila "For the morning national cattle slaughter review for Thursday. On Thursday trade and demand were moderate in all feeding regions in the Southern plains, compared to last week live sales sold a $1 lower at $1.18. In Nebraska compared to last week live sales sold $1 lower as well from $1.17 to $1.18 with dress sales steady to a $1 lower from $1.86 to $1.87. In Colorado compared to last week live sales sold $1 -$2 at $1.18 with dress sales at $1.87."

Chicago Dec. Wheat prices closed yesterday up ½, at 444 ¾. Dec. corn ended the day up 1 ¾, at 344. Portland prices for soft white wheat of Ordinary Protein for Oct. had a mixed market, up ½ and dn 1, ranging from 5-14 ¾ to 5-22. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11 ½ % protein, prices for Oct. were dn 2, ranging from 5-19 ¾ to 5-59 ¾. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for Oct. were up 1 ¼, ranging from 6-12 ¼ to 6-47 ¼. Dec. Live Cattle were dn 32 ½ cents to finish the week at 111.75. Oct. Feeder cattle were up 57 ½ cents to close the week at 140.95. Oct. class III milk was dn 8 cents at 17-57.
