I'm Matt Rice with the Market Line Report for October 5th. Trade was slow again in the cattle market this week, as prices continue to gradually drop. Gregg Sanders shares the direct feeder cattle summary from last week's cattle market.

Sanders- "National slaughter cattle review for Thursday, October 1st, 2015. In the Texas panhandle the last reported market was on Wednesday, with live sales from $1.22-$1.24. In Nebraska, last dress sales market was $1.88-$1.89. On Thursday in Colorado, trading was limited with few live sales, selling from $1.16- $1.22 "

Chicago December Wheat ended last week down 5, at 512 1/4. December corn ended the day up 1/2, at 388 3/4. Portland prices for soft white wheat of ordinary protein for October, were down 5 even, at mostly 5-49 1/4. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11 ½ % protein, prices for October were down 7, at mostly 6-17 1/2. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for October were down 4 even, at mostly 6-55 1/4. October live cattle closed yesterday up $1.65, at 123.05. October Feeder cattle were down $2.42 1/2, at 179.82 1/2. October class III milk was up 8 cents, at 15-66.
