Grain prices continue to struggle

I'm Matt Rice with the Market Line Report for July 30th. Wheat is struggling as we round out the harvest season, more numbers in the red after Wednesday's market comes to a close.

Here's Todd Horwitz with more details on the grain market:

Todd Horwitz-"Nobody wants wheat, and I think this is exactly the time we want to step in here as a trade and look for some sort of much bigger rally. We've seen wheat be extremely wild over time and we've had every bit of bad news, forcing wheat lower. I think right here at the base of December, $5.05 - $5.00- $5.10. Somewhere in that neighborhood, you want to look to find a spot. Remember news itself drives these markets too far one way or the other, but eventually the true support level will hold out."

Chicago September Wheat ended the day down 14 1/2 at 4-95 & 3/4. September corn ended the day down 7 ¼, at 3-67 1/4. Portland prices for soft white wheat of ordinary protein for August New Crop, had no comparison, at mostly 5-46 1/4. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11 ½ % protein, prices for August New Crop were a mixed market down 9 ½ and up 4 ½, ranging from 5-55 1/4 to 5-80 1/4. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for August New Crop were down 10 3/4 to 25 3/4, ranging between 6-09 1/2 to 6-29 1/2. August live cattle closed Wednesday down 12 1/2 cents, at 144.67 1/2.
