Grains All Ended Lower on Friday

I’m KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for February 23, 2015.
All grains closed lower on Friday as USDA released their new-crop estimates for grains. USDA Grain and Livestock Reporter Greg Sanders gives an update on the region’s cattle market.
Sanders: “This week on feeder cattle we had 3,350 head of receipts. Compared to last Friday, feeder cattle were steady to $6 higher in a light test. Trade remains slow with light to moderate demand as most sale yards in the trade area had special feeder cattle sales this year. Feeder steers medium to large #1s and #2s current FOB price 850 to 900 pounds $186 to $190 in Washington. Holstein steers large frames #1s and #2s current FOB delivery 350 pounds at $235.”
Chicago May Wheat ended Friday down 12 and 1/2 cents at 5-07. May corn ended the day down 4 and 3/4 cents at 3-93.
Portland March prices for soft white wheat of ordinary protein were steady to down 12 and 1/2 cents ranging between 6-47 and 1/4 and 6-65. White club wheat of ordinary protein had no price comparisons. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices were down 11 and 1/4 cents at mostly 6-31 and 1/4. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were down 7 and 1/4 cents at mostly 8-56 and 3/4.
April live cattle were down $2.97 and half on Friday at 148-52 and half. April Feeder cattle were down $3.22 and half at 198-35. April class III milk was down 41 cents at 15-32.
