Wheat Markets Higher on Tuesday

I’m KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for October 22, 2014.
Grains closed higher on Tuesday — corn had solid gains and wheat had slight gains. From the floor of the CME Group, Joe Vaclavik shares his observations of Tuesday’s markets.
Vaclavik: “Grain markets here in Chicago were higher on Tuesday. We had a sharper higher market in corn and soybeans and marginally higher trade in the wheat markets. You know it certainly feels as if we’ve put in our seasonally lows in these row crop markets. We posted lows in the corn and soybeans markets in early October and have rallied back a little bit since then. Harvest weather this week actually very good. We are going to see a stretch of dry weather here for the 7 to 10 days at least.”
Chicago December Wheat ended Tuesday up 5 and 3/4 cents at 5-19 and 1/4. December corn ended the day up 7 and 3/4 cents at 3-56.
Portland prices for soft white wheat were up 3/4 of a cent to 5 and 3/4 cents at mostly 6-86. White club wheat prices were up 5 and 3/4 cents at mostly 9-27 and 1/2.
