Wheat Markets Down Slightly on Monday

I’m KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for October 21, 2014.
It was — for the most part — a lower day for the wheat markets. From the floor of the CME Group, Jack Scoville shares his observations of Monday’s markets.
Scoville: “A mixed closed in the grains after a mostly a lower session. Wheat market finished with some small losses here in Chicago — just a touch firmer for the most part over in Kansas City and small losses in Minneapolis as well. Weather was really good for planting progress here this week. Really the wheat market has been one more of demand where we are pretty much through the harvest for both winter and spring wheat right now. But we are looking for some demand right now and that is keeping the wheat market pinned near the lows even though it is very, very likely that the harvest lows have been made.”
