Exponential job growth

A single job at a processing plant can have an exponential employment factor outside. With the announcement by yogurt maker Chobani that they are making a $100 million incremental investment in an effort to fuel momentum as the company continues to grow its category and push into new areas, Twin Falls City Manager Travis Rothweiler, pointed out to me that jobs created inside the plant with that investment end up creating even more jobs in the field... Literally. "There's probably getting close to 1000 jobs located at this facility. As we have collaboratively built that partnership, with Chobani moving forward it just continues to create a successful environment. You say 1000 jobs in the plant to say nothing of the number of dairy farmers that this impacts. Yes. For every one job created at Chobani there is an additional conservatively, for two upwards of seven additional jobs created indirectly. Even if you take that average of 5 1/2 to 6, 1000 jobs at Chobani means there are 6000 additional opportunities in the dairy industry in the value added agricultural sectors and that is just a huge blessing to our local area."
