I don’t know if you have been watching the ad campaign produced by the Idaho Potato Commission but it features a friend of mine named Heather Cox. You might recognize that name because Heather covers a lot of college sports for ESPN. Heather’s a member at Crane Creek Country Club as am I and I have to admit, I’m a little jealous of the fact that she gets to do all of these potato commercials. I also have a long-standing and very fun relationship with Frank Muir, President and CEO of the Idaho Potato Commission. So the other day I called Frank up and had a very candid discussion and I challenged Frank. “I used to work for ESPN too and here she is getting all of this action. You know there’s just something different, I can’t put my hand on it right now but… (Laughter). Maybe gender and beauty? That could have something to do with it you know, not that you’re not beautiful but you know, there is just something. Yeah. I see her all the time at Crane Creek and her mother works there. Yes she told me that. Heather is a class lady…a wonderful person. And she gets everything in one take.”

So there’s a tiny insight into why Heather is doing all of the Idaho potato commission commercials and I’m not.
