Local Man Seeks Volunteers To Help In His Battle Against Damaging Puncturevine Weeds. Talk about a passion. Ed Lenhart of Boise has been waging a personal crusade against puncturevine, also known as goatheads, the noxious weed that is the frequent curse of local bicyclists, walkers and pets.  Now he's looking for people to join him in fighting against this noxious  weed. Lenhart, who is partly retired, has been made it practice to watch for puncturevine everywhere he goes. When he spots them along bike paths, walking paths, alleys or streets he stops, cuts the vines from their roots and stores them in a trash can until he can find a dumpster to put them in. "I know that I'm not the only person in Idaho that wants to do this type of thing. I would like to continue the above practice, but I want to do it more efficiently, with others. It's too overwhelming for one individual. If we could get a group or groups to do this, we could accomplish much more". Ed notes that his efforts thus far already have overloaded dumpsters at parks and other places.
