Chip Growers Invited to USPB Chip Committee Meeting

In less than two months the United States Potato Board will hold the Chip Committee Meeting on Wednesday, January 7th in Orlando right before the Potato Expo begins. USPB Manager of Industry Communication and Policy David Fairbourn encourages Chip growers to participate in this event.
Fairbourn: “This is the an update from the USPB Chip Committee and the program that is lead by our Chip Program Manager David Parish. Here is where they will hear the USPB global Chip Program updates. Learn about the specialty crop research initiative on Zebra Chip funding. And hear the latest from the National Chip Processing Trials; the new varieties that are being introduced to the industry; and the fast track seed program; next generation pre-commercial varieties so this is an opportunity for chip growers to learn — and processors also.”
In addition to the Chip Committee Meeting the Potato Expo is happening as well. Fairbourn says that Potato Expo is the must attend event for those involved in the potato industry.
Fairbourn: “The Potato Expo is really all things potato. There are general sessions. There are breakout sessions for each of the industry sectors. And then there is a trade show that encompasses it all. This is where it all happens and some of the great planning and meetings of the year.”
