State Fair Rapidly Approaching

The state fair is nearly here and will begin next Thursday. Of course you can expect all the things you enjoy, the 4-H and FFA livestock competitions, rodeo, commercial exhibits. Colorado State Fair General Manager Sarah Cummings shares more of some of the exciting things happening during the 11-day event.

Cummings: "There are always monster trucks, the demolition derby — we've got some great fair food — I know everyone loves to come and indulge in the tasty treats at the fairgrounds."

Cummings continues with more details on entertainment that will be happening.

Cummings: "We have an incredible line up of great entertainment and rodeo attractions — we're so excited about all of the wonderful things we have offer this year. We kick off the fair with a PRCA rodeo followed by a Travis Tritt concert on the opening day August 26th at 7 p.m. We follow that up on the same day with a Last Man Standing elimination-style fighting in the Event center. We follow through with our six nights of rodeo and concerts. Concerts include: Locash is August 27th and Chris Janson on August 31st. We continue our concert line up in the Event Center. We are pleased to be featuring Foreigner on Sept. 1st, Lee Brice on Sept 2nd, and Back to the 90s Tour featuring Vanilla Ice, Naughty by Nature, Kid N Play and Kool Moe Dee on September 3rd followed by Huey Lewis and the News on September 4th — all starting at 7 p.m. in the Event Center."
