Informative Marshall Frasier Beef Symposium on Feb. 16th

February is a busy month for Colorado ag producers with a lot of exciting and informative meetings and conferences happening. Next Tuesday at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds in Hugo the Colorado Livestock Association will be holding its 8th Annual Marshall Frasier Beef Symposium. CLA Administrative Coordinator Kellee Mitchell shares more
Mitchell: “It is a free educational program. We are going to start with CattleFax who is going to talk about the Cattle Cycle is Still Alive. We also have a new Beef Quality Assurance Coordinator who is going to introduce herself. We have Aaron Tattersall with Silveus Insurance who is going to discuss livestock risk protection methods. We’ve got some really good information from Dr. Ashley Stokes who is PHD at Colorado State University Vet Medicine School who is going to talk about long-haul transportation and also the need for rural veterinarians in the area. We’re going to have a wonderful lunch by the CSU Meats Judging Team. Then in the afternoon we are going to have something special and different which is Rural Covert Surveillance by Tactical Ops Outdoors trying to help the people in the rural area to watch for rustlers or if they are having problems with theft or anything like that. Then we are going to have Dr. Jamison Allen with Northwest Missouri University who is going to discuss the importance of trace minerals in cattle.”
Later in the afternoon there will be a safety class on Rural First Aid for Medial Emergencies and this portion of the meeting counts towards the CLA Safety Group Members 2 safety meeting requirement.
