Attention FFA Chapters: Grants Available Through Colorado Corn

The Colorado Corn FFA Grant Program assists FFA chapters in Colorado on projects that lack funding within their school district's budget. Colorado Corn Communications Director Eric Brown shares more details

Brown: "We are once again doing the Colorado Corn FFA Grant program. This is the third year. It started out two years ago as a one $5,000 grant that we wanted to award a FFA project. We get a certain amount of applicants each of the last two years of the program. The first year we awarded one $5,000 grant and planned to do the same last year — but the caliber of projects — there were a couple of others our guys really liked couldn't decide on and didn't want to leave one out. So we actually awarded out $11,500 in grant dollars to three projects. This is something our guys love doing — anything that promotes keeping young people in agriculture is something our board and staff are enthusiastic about."

Brown encourages chapters to apply and says that the application is relatively simple to complete. So if you might know of a FFA chapter in need of funds for a worthy project

Brown: "If anybody who hears this or knows that their local FFA chapter is working on something that may need a little assistance - let us know. Deadline is November 15ht and if they need to learn more about this program, they can go to coloradocorn.com and there is more information on it."
