Washington Ag Today March 2, 2010 The popular interactive online webinar series “Ag in Uncertain Times” is speaking a new language this month. John Nelson of the Washington State University Extension Western Center for Risk Management Education explains.
Nelson: “This month we are going to do it in Spanish. And we have a real fantastic team of bilingual or Hispanic speakers that just reflect some of the rich talent we have out here in the West and across the U.S. actually. We have people from all over the U.S. that re going to be speaking and participating in this webinar on subjects from credit to marketing.”
The free 90-minute sessions for agricultural producers and other professionals will be held at 4 p.m. Pacific Time on March 10th, 17th and 24th. The March tenth webinar will be on the topic of Financial Management and Access to Credit in Agriculture. Business planning and market strategies are the topics for March 17th and the final session in Spanish on March 24th will discuss tools and resources for crop enterprise selection and diversification.
Ramiro Lobo, the Small Farm Program Advisor from the University of California Cooperative Extension in San Diego will head up the sessions. Among the presenters is Karina Gallardo with the WSU Tree Fruit Research and Extension Center.
