Have you ever heard of the Partnership for Prescription Assistance?

JOHNSON By our estimates again there are probably 80 thousand people who would qualify instantly if they just knew about the program.

PPA spokesman Ken Johnson made that statement at a recent press conference on the steps of the now closed Idaho State Capitol building. The Partnership for Prescription Assistance has reached out to more than three million Americans in just one year. PPA is signing up people like Cindy Jones who need help, promising that the medicine will be delivered to them within three to four weeks.

JONES My son has asthma and so he has to take a lot of medications every month, every day so we need some help with getting his stuff.

Governor Butch Otter says his mother signed up for PPA last year and praised the program for what it did for her.

OTTER The relief from the worry that there was somebody else out there that actually cared about her, there was somebody out there that was willing to help her in the pharmaceutical industry.

The pharmaceutical research industry of America has given away ten billion dollars worth of its products to millions of Americans in the past 18 months. You can enroll or get more information by calling 888-4-PPA-NOW or go to their website www.pparx.org.
