Getting the Scoop on Energy

Getting the Scoop on Energy. I'm Greg Martin with today's Fruit Grower Report. If you are in the wine industry and thinking of doing an energy project there are some great outlets for the information you need. Chris Love, Industrial Services Program Manager for WSU Extension Energy Program discussed the many resources available in the state. LOVE: We have a variety of programs that we run there. We are almost 100% grant and contract funded. We get very little money from the state – we get very little money from the university. One of the programs I am most closely involved in is our industrial engineering program. She says they have a team of commercial engineers available in addition to a team that does a lot of commercial and residential consultation. LOVE: And we also have clearing house services and I don't know if any of you have ever called the U.S. Department of Energies EERE, it's Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Clearing House. If you want to find out what the Department of Energy is doing on energy efficiency, we manage that clearing house so if you call any one at that hotline you're going to get folks in our office in Olympia. Love says they have a very comprehensive list of materials available to anyone. LOVE: We also have an energy library. In fact we have a full service energy library. If you want to know anything about energy and you want someone to do the research for you, you can contact our energy library. We have on staff librarians that can do the research for you. Start with their website at energy.wsu.edu. That's today's Fruit Grower Report. I'm Greg Martin on the Northwest Ag Information Network.
