Wine Legend. I'm Greg Martin with today's Fruit Grower Report. The Washington wine industry is once again getting ready to celebrate their Legends of Washington Wines event on Saturday, August 28th. Deb Heintz, Clore board member and Executive Director of the Prosser Economic Development. HEINTZ: It's a fundraising for the Walter Clore Wine and Culinary Center but its two fold. It is to honor a legend in the wine industry that has had an impact in the community and or the industry and has a historical and lasting significance to future generations. Heintz talks about how that person is selected. HEINTZ: We do that by a selection committee is set up, then they have a nomination period of time. There's certain criteria that they have to meet and then the selection committee makes a determination. It will be announced prior to the Legends event and then we have the event itself as a celebration. She says at the moment they are looking for event sponsors. HEINTZ: We are looking for sponsors and on our website which is the Clorecenter.org, go to the events tab and you can download information on being a table sponsor, just a sponsor for the event itself and gives you some information on the Legends event as well.
