Dealing with powdery mildew, leaf spot and several other diseases just got a bit easier. Herb Young, fungicide product manager with Bayer CropScience announces the availability of Adament.™

 

YOUNG: Our strobilurin is Trifloxystrobin which is in flint and it’s been on the market for several years but Adament™ is a mixture of flint with our sterile inhibitor fungicide Tebuconazole from Bayer so we’re giving a full rate of strobilurin with Adament™ with the addition of sterile inhibitor.

 

Young says there is more resistance management and more curative activity with the product. So what can you use Adament™ on?

 

YOUNG: Grapes and stone fruits is what it’s registered for right now on particularly powdery mildew on grapes and also Botrytis. It’s rainfast as soon as it dries. This material is highly effective for powdery mildew control, there’s differing rates for those two diseases that are on the label.

 

He says that Adament™ should be registered for pome fruit by the end of April.

 

YOUNG: Probably the greatest strength of Adament™ is the combination of two active ingredients so you actually get control from two completely different mode of actions and mechanisms. This gives quicker and more complete control but it really also gives resistance management against possibly mutation of the fungus against either of these classes of chemistry.
