Idaho’s roads and infrastructure seem to be a cross that Governor Otter is more than willing to bear. We’ll discuss with the Governor his thoughts…next. October 1999, in the Idaho Statesman, officials are struggling to respond to a pattern of recent traffic deaths at rural intersections in their county... more... February, 2008 The rural road south of Boise where two men lost their lives early Sunday is becoming an increasingly popular - and dangerous - east-west thoroughfare, and again recently several Idaho newspapers have published data saying rural roads are dangerous and need updating.

Idaho roads have been a huge priority to Governor Otter and I recently asked what was going to happen to road improvements in view of opposition and politicking by experts on Idaho’s roadways:

“The task Force that we put together is due to make it’s report July 1, 2011I’m not gonna’ get out ahead  of them. If they come up with some ideas in the next 3-4 months that I can take to the legislature, I’d be more than happy to do it. There’s no reason for us to sit around and wait, but it’s gotta fit the overall plan. I’m not gonna have fits and starts on a 20 year vision on what our infrastructure needs to look like. We’ve gotta plan out ahead and if there’s some elements of that plan that we can begin in this next legislative session, I’m willing to champion those efforts.” Tomorrow Governor Otter with a very pragmatic way to look at road improvements.
