The folks up in Bingham County are fed up…with rodents so they’ve hired a gunslinger to come to the rescue…make that a trapper. The “tail” is just ahead. Pests are pests…no matter what form they take. Here’s a testimonial to that fact…Bingham county's mosquito abatement district has put up a $5000 bounty for gopher tails. A mosquito weighs between 1-5 milligrams but can deliver a powerful punch. A gopher is typically 4 to 6 inches long and weighs about 5 ounces. The knockout punch for them can be poison or propane explosions in their holes…but those kills can’t be recorded. So Bingham County Commissioner Ladd Carter has said bring in their tails and we’ll give you a buck. The way to produce tails is by trapping which is where Gary Judge steps in. “Gophers tend to migrate to hay fields. What you’re trying to do is set a trap in that burrow so that when he comes by and checks it he doesn’t know it’s there and you catch it. Can you make an impact? Yes you can if you get at it.

And because gophers are raising havoc with Bingham County’s crops and canals, they’ve asked Gary Judge to teach them the most efficient way to “get at it”, by trapping the pesky little rodents. Gary has even given a gopher-trapping seminar.
